Big Waster, the virtual ambassador of The Environmental Protection Department of Hong Kong, is one of the most popular mascots among the HK government’s mascots.
I was honoured to work with an iconic and meaningful brand in Hong Kong as a Motion/Content Designer for 4-months.
Although the task I was assigned was quite challenging: produce two videos each week, it was an extremely enjoyable to see the outcomes.
Big Waster has a quirky character design language implied: eyes are bigger than his stomach, to remind the public stop piling more food than one can eat into shopping trolleys and onto plates. Hence, that was the message I had to constantly embed into each post.

The account is famous for cosplaying in different characters and recreating meme-able posts with environmental protection puns . So the posts I’ve designed have merged with a lot of trending pop-culture & subcultures like Manga & Gaming, to reach the goal of being funny and keep the followers growing.
